EXCELSIOR has been presented at the GEO-CRADLE stand and session at the GEO-XIV Plenary in Washington D.C. through the NOA team (coordinated by Dr Haris Kontoes)

The EXCELSIOR Project  participated at the 17th International Scientific and Technical Conference “FROM IMAGERY TO DIGITAL REALITY: ERS & Photogrammetry” in Hadera, Israel on Monday, 16 October 2017. During the presentation, George Mellilos on behalf of the project team, addressed the potential impact of the EXCELSIOR for remote sensing applications in Europe and the Eastern Meditteranean region throught the establishment of ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence. During the conference, a wide range of topics were also presented, which addressed the latest developments in earth observing systems, technologies and applications. Further, a meeting was held with Professor Ammatzia Peled, from the University of Haifa in the Dept. of Geography and Environmental Studies and Head of the GIS and Remote Sensing Laboratories.

George Komodromos, Director of DEC, Cyprus, visited ESA ESRIN  at Frascati on 19-20 September 2017 and he had the opportunity to promote EXCELSIOR as well to meet with Simonetta Cheli,  Head of Strategy, Programme & Coordination Office, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes, ESA – European Space Agency member of EXCELSIOR External Advisory Board.
